Garrett grew up in the pool and has logged tens of thousands of miles training for and competing in triathlons, finding great peace in the meditative quality of endurance training.  He has competed in dozens of triathlons across the country, from Philadelphia, Pa., (his Olympic distance debut with Team In Training in 2007) to Portland, Or., (USA Triathlon Nationals 2008), to his hometown of Louisville, Ky., (Ironman 2008, 2009, 2012).  He’s even dipped his toes into international waters to compete at the legendary Ironman St. Croix 70.3.
