Meet Hyedi Nelson

Whistlestop Half Marathon Athlete

I’m currently training for the Whistlestop Half Marathon in Ashland, WI on October 15. It’ll be my second official major race after having Calvin and I’m hoping to set a personal record and run it in under 1:55!

I recently heard about Miles with Maeve — an amazing organization started by Garrett and Christine McAlister after losing their sweet baby girl, Maeve, at 37 weeks. The McAlister’s set out to find a way to help provide support to families during a time when they need it most.

Please consider donating (in any amount!) and let me know if you’d like your funds earmarked to go to a specific cause that MWM supports (Molly Bears, Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep, Faith’s Lodge or Little Angel Gowns).

I’m kicking off the fundraising with a personal donation because of the support we received from Faith’s Lodge (not to mention the lifelong connections we made there) and the precious photos we were able to have taken because of Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep.

I Want To Help Hyedi Accomplish Her Goal!

Charles-9Hyedi is a communications professional by day and a runner by night (or any time she can fit a run in). She lives in Minnesota and is training to run the Whistlestop Half Marathon this October in honor of Baby Charlie, her son who she and her husband lost at 30 weeks gestation in July 2014. Hyedi is looking forward to being a part of the MWM team to raise money to help support other families who have experienced infant or pregnancy loss. Hyedi and her husband recently welcomed a new addition to their family — Calvin, their rainbow baby and little brother to Charlie.

You can also check out her blog, Finding a Balance, where she’ll be documenting her training for the race!
